We have access to more information than ever, on the other hand, misinformation and half truth often out grow and burries factual evidence. In order to capture reader's attention, publishers often sacrifice objectivity and hide nauances in order to produce sensational headlines.

717 Research Group exists to improve this situation. We aim to make statistics fun, and graphs interaction, in the hope that people can come to their own conclusion based on facts. We hope that we can capture people's attention using intuitive graphs instead of sensational headlines.

We also disclose and explain the methodology of data collection.

Interactive analysis is what seperates us from everyone else, Where appropriate, readers should be able to compare scenarios, run simulations, adjust assumptions, inspect original data set, and test alternative explanations.

That reflects a simple belief: people should be able to inspect evidence rather than only consume conclusions. We want to promote active critical thinking instead of passively accepting things as true.

We develop our own tools for data gathering and data visualisation. We find that not all existing suit our specific usecases. The time it takes to customize and the cost in acquiring software outweights the cost of developing in house.
